As we begin the new year, I'm reflecting on what I can change and can control. As a wise friend pointed out to me recently, pick something you have complete control over and find your mojo again. This is my quest for 2010. To get my mojo back!

Can you name that lyric?

Hi. Well, I guess I'm the very special girl who keeps singing the wrong lyric over and over again. It was just brought to my attention tonight, by my dear, sweet and adoring husband (note the sarcasm?) that all this time I've been singing a lyric wrong. What is the offending lyric? Well, it's by one of my favorite high school bands, Oingo Boingo, and it's "Dead Man's Party."
I know, I know, but let me tell you the funny part. All this time I've been singing the chorus line as "leave your party hats all at the door," when in reality it's "leave your body and soul at the door."
I laughed a deep, hearty belly laugh. My kids just looked at me, not quite understanding my ineptitude. Give them time, they'll get to know the "real" me and understand that this is quite a common occurrance. :)
Happy singing!!!!

It must run in the family.
I thought (and still firmly believe) that Jimmy Buffet at one point say's "looking for my jigger of salt" in Margaritaville, but there are those that think (a majority too) he says "shaker". Don't drink and don't know the terms, but there is such a thing as a jigger.

Dare I say Dad even confirmed it - it's used as a measurement.

Who would have thought (and how would he know?)?

I also wouldn't have ever thought Dad would know what a jigger was. :) How funny.
At least I know I'm in good company, if even you, who has such a broad music base can think lyrics are one thing, then I'm OK.
